New Electron Optical Design (EOD) software with features of all SPOC programs is now available.

version 3.70 of the programs is available since early 2002! In October 2003 some computation programs and interfaces have changed to version 3.71, and several documents were changed. A number of new examples was added. As a bonus the user can obtain the version of programs for rotationally symmetric lenses which allows the computation with Neumann boundary condition and also an estimate of computation accuracy both on axis and in the computation mesh with maximum size of up to 200000 points.

Although the interfaces are still the DOS applications written in Borland Pascal, they run without problems under Win9x, Windows NT, 2000 and XP. They enable the use of larger meshes for FEM (coarse mesh of 100x100 mesh lines, 200000 mesh points) and contain a number of improvements. They display the design in proper ratio of r and z coordinates. Several smaller bugs were removed.

The computation programs are compiled with the latest Compaq Visual Fortran compiler. Even with 200000 points the program needs less than 32 MB RAM.

For LINUX fans: we can compile the executables also for LINUX. The interfaces programs run also under LINUX!
